Biography

Munkh-Orgil Khurelchudur is a Community Engagement Coordinator of the PFP Mongolia team. He is experienced in livelihood improvement and income diversification of local communities in Mongolia, along with applying a rights-based approach and environmental and social safeguards at the program level.

Munkh-Orgil has been working with local communities since 2018, working with local vegetable farmers in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (Mongolia Office) to support the policy of value-chain linkage between communities and other market players, including organic food and Good agricultural practices. Likewise, with herder communities at the Community-Led Conservation project of TNC Mongolia, he supported more than 30 local communities in practicing sustainable grazing and livelihood improvement through place-based economic initiatives such as beekeeping and community-based tourism.

Notably, he is an experienced tourism professional who has worked in the tourism industry by supporting the entrepreneurial skills of local communities to run community-based tourism and development-oriented projects—a firm believer in the power of multidisciplinary approach/thinking in the workplace. Sustainable development and a rights-based approach in humanitarian-oriented projects are his true passion.

He holds an Ecotourism degree from the National University of Mongolia and upgraded his education with an International Master of Business Administration at the Chinese Culture University, Taiwan.
